T he Challenge:
The laundry service responsible for servicing Daimler Chrysler employee uniforms needed to find a way to quickly and accurately track all incoming and out going employee uniforms.
The Solution:
Implement Xpress Data Collection running on an Intermec Mobile Barcode Reader.
Each employee locker is identified with a barcode label allowing the operator to scan out soiled uniform and scan in a clean uniform.
The data collected onsite is synchronized with the head office using an onsite PC loaded with Xpress Remote Sync software leveraging XML Web Service technology.
The synchronization process posts the transaction details into the existing accounting system eliminating the need for head office to wait for hand written transaction details as well as automating the billing process.

- Easy to use onsite data collection system
- Able to update head office inventory remotely
- Automated billing process
 The Challenge:
A parts supplier to Honda was required to send electronic shipment conformation using Honda’s existing EDI (Electronic Document Interchange) interface
Solution:
Implement Xpress Shipping along with Xpress Data Collection to process and fill shipment request.
Xpress Shipping automatically generates and sends shipment requests to Symbol Industrial-Class Mobile Barcode Readers.
Xpress Data Collection is used to review and fill the shipment requests received from Xpress Shipping.
The fulfilled shipment request are processed and sent to Honda using EDI (Electronic Document Interchange) implemented by Xpress Shipping
The Outcome:
- Electronically send shipment requests to the shipping department
- Automate the creation of shipping documents
- Process and send shipment details to Honda using EDI
